I was in Amman for only a few hours. I love Amman. I got a chance to walk around Jabal Al-Hussein. We left only hours I arrived for Baghdad. The taxi showed up at 1am. We wanted to arrive at the Iraqi border at dawn, so we drive inside Iraq during the day. The Jordanian border was busy at dawn. I'm enclosing a picture of the exit visa line. I was one of the very few girls and the only one not wearing hijab.
I arrived at the gate at chicago's Ohare airport. When I saw that all the passengers were arab on the Royal Jordanian airlines flight, I realized what I was getting myself into.
One of the passengers got searched randomnly as we boarded the plane. Well, you can't say that he was picked 'cos he's Arab. However, he insisted that they picked him 'cos he was in Timberland gear : )
The plane stopped in detroit for an hour but we were not permitted to exit the plane. Lots more Arabs boarded the plane.
Arrived in Amman Friday 3/12. It was nice to see my dad after I cleared customs. I wanted to see a familiar face.
